We are very proud of our Museum. On display are artifacts that showl the history of White River and in so doing show our Canadian history as well.
White River was founded in 1865 by the Canadian Pacific Railway. At the museum you will see many early CPR artifacts, such as: silver servers that were used in the dining cars; a restored railway speeder; items used to repair tracks; a telegraph system; photos and much more.
On display is a copy of the oil on wood sketch painted by A. J. Casson the youngest member of the famous Canadian artists known as the Group of Seven. It was painted in October of 1929 while Casson was stopped at the Railway Station in White River.
Winnie-the-Pooh began in White River and this unique connection has inspired people from everywhere to contribute Pooh items that we have displayed in several Winnie-the-Pooh collections. The latest and largest is the "Lisa Yee Collection" from Orlando Florida.
